Let Them Smile Again Surgical Camp in Mallapally from September 15

Let Them Smile Again's two-pronged mission to bring smiles back to the faces of Kerala's flood victims, will begin with a Surgical Camp at the George Mathen Memorial Hospital in Mallapally from September 15, 2018. This camp will be held in association with Surgical Volunteers International, GMM Hospital and the local authorities. From the morning of September 15, a dedicated team of surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and volunteers will be based in the hospital and provide vital surgical procedures to flood-affected people from across the region and to those who otherwise can't access surgical facilities, totally free of cost. Working alongside the surgical team, will be a couple of instructors from the American Heart Association, who will train and certify local medical personnel on CPR procedures at an intensive workshop conducted on site. They will also train members of the local community including drivers and others who are usually the first to respond to a sudden cardiac emergency, in this vital procedure.
